A Kerberos-Based Authentication Architecture for Wireless LANs
نویسندگان
چکیده
This work addresses the issues related to authentication in wireless LAN environments, with emphasis on the IEEE 802.11 standard. It proposes an authentication architecture for Wireless networks. This architecture called Wireless Kerberos (W-Kerberos), is based on the Kerberos authentication server and the IEEE 802.1X-EAP model, in order to satisfy both security and mobility needs. It then, provides a mean of protecting the network, assuring mutual authentication, thwarts cryptographic attack risks via a key refreshment mechanism and manages fast and secure Handovers between access points.

Kerberos Authentication in Wireless Sensor Networks
We proposed an authentication mechanism in the wireless sensor network. Sensor network uses the Kerberos authentication scheme for the authentication of bases station in the network. Kerberos provides a centralized authentication server whose function is to authenticate user by providing him the ticket to grant request to the base station. In this paper we have provided architecture for the aut...
متن کاملA new SDN-based framework for wireless local area networks
Nowadays wireless networks are becoming important in personal and public communication andgrowing very rapidly. Similarly, Software Dened Network (SDN) is an emerging approach to over-come challenges of traditional networks. In this paper, a new SDN-based framework is proposedto ne-grained control of 802.11 Wireless LANs. This work describes the benets of programmableAcc...
متن کاملAuthentication Components: Engineering Experiences and Guidelines
Security protocols typically employ an authentication phase followed by a protected data exchange. In some cases, such TLS, these two phases are tightly integrated, while in other cases, such as EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol) and Kerberos, they are separate and often implemented in different endpoints. However, careless application of this separation has lead to several vulnerabilitie...
متن کاملDesign and Implementation of WIRE1x
This paper presents the design and implementation of WIRE1x. The WIRE1x is an open-source implementation of IEEE 802.1x client (supplicant) developed by the Wireless Internet Research & Engineering (WIRE) Laboratory. The IEEE 802.1x standard defines a port-based network access control to authenticate and authorize devices interconnected by various IEEE 802 LANs. The IEEE 802.11i also incorporat...
متن کاملInterworking between High-speed Portable Internet and Existing Wireless LANs using Different AAA Protocols
With the growth of wireless technologies rapidly, there will be coexist heterogeneous wireless LANs environment within a few years. For example, there may be coexist current wireless LAN systems based widely available 802.11 and a wireless LAN system based proprietary wireless LAN standard with different AAA mechanisms such as RADIUS and Diameter. In case of being coexisted the heterogeneous wi...
